It was with great pride that we received the Bronze award in the category of Model Department Store / Shopping Centre, for the redevelopment of the Mall of Engomi, at this year’s Retail Excellence Awards organised by Boussias Cyprus.
The re-constructed Mall of Engomi is now a completely re-configured space, significantly larger than the pre-existing shopping area, with a modern and imposing façade with shops facing 28th October Avenue. The Mall of Engomi now meets the needs of the residents of the wider Engomi area, as well as the students who reside in the area.
Taking a look back in time, from the start to the completion of the project, the challenges and difficulties that had to be overcome were admittedly many and continuous. Atterbury’s extensive experience in projects of this kind, the good management by the Project Management team and the great effort by all members of the project team made it possible to carry out the project within the tight timeframe and adverse conditions mentioned above, but also within budget.
The success story of the Mall of Engomi redevelopment was possible thanks to the transformation of the negative circumstance of COVID-19 into a real opportunity, in a way that made it possible to revive an ageing building into a truly modern and fresh space, with all those characteristics of an integrated shopping centre, in which carefully selected brands have been integrated and supported, giving it a unique and special character.
