Scouting is a voluntary, non-political, educational and worldwide movement for young and old people, open to all, without distinction of origin, race or creed, aiming to contribute to the development of young people physically, mentally, socially and spiritually through mutual education with an emphasis on outdoor and sea life. The movement was founded in 1907 by Lord Baden-Powell and currently has 10 million members in more than 160 countries and territories. Scouting is open to children from first grade through third grade. After high school they can continue as graders if they want to.
Our system is the 144th scout club of Lapithos. Within our program are integrated topics for the children to learn about our occupied homeland and about our beloved Lapithos, about life in the mountains and at sea. Our activities are organized in order to support our scout club financially.
